Wyndeham consolidates sheetfed offering

Wyndeham is to cease manufacturing at its Keyne Print sheetfed operation in Milton Keynes.

The group announced a 30-day consultation over the proposals last month, and has now reached an agreement with its workforce.

Two-thirds of the company's 45 employees left on Monday (4 April). A skeleton production staff remains while work in progress is completed.

Around a dozen people are being retained at the facility to provide design, customer service and project management using the group's other facilities.

"We can guide customers to a bigger level of service. New business will be placed around the group," explained chief operating officer Roy Kingston.

Keyne Print's "small" leasehold unit will be retained, and could be used for storage and fulfilment.

There are no plans to relocate Keyne's equipment, which included two five-colour B2 Lithrones and a range of platens and B3 presses, elsewhere within the group.
