Will Ipex 2010 empower India's exhibitors in Birmingham?

PrintWeek India, March 30 - Suhani Singh talks to key Indian exhibitors and understands their game-plan for the show

MANUFACTURER
P S Saggu, director, Sigma Rollers
"Ipex South Asia in Mumbai was good for us. With an expected footfall of 25,000 global visitors, the Ipex show in UK is perhaps the second biggest platform for showcasing our product after Drupa. Having established our brand in India, we look forward to expand our business in other parts of the world. The targeted markets being Africa, Middle East and Europe. We would be exhibiting printing rollers for sheetfed and webfed offset printing presses. The products would include UltimaEx and Sirok coverings. We have just signed an agreement with Katsura Roller in Japan and will include their range of products as well. The potential for export is excellent."

MANUFACTURER
Nitin Garg, director, NBG Printographic

"Participating in Ipex would help us as it is the second largest international exhibition. It will give us a great opportunity to interact with new as well as existing users. NBG can reiterate it's presence in the international market as a reliable supplier of web offset presses for newspaper and book publishers. We will display visual information at our stand for the range of single width web offset presses, especially the Newsprint press which has speeds of 36,000 cph. We would be present at the stand to receive clients from overseas and India. NBG has been exporting on a regular basis. At Ipex we will evaluate the potential in Europe, Africa and Far East Asia."

DEALER
A Chatterjee, Indo- Polygraph

"Participating in the Ipex is essential for us as many Indian customers are going there. It interests us because of all the companies that we represent. Since we don't have Indian made machines it is important for us to involve ourselves in shows like Drupa and Ipex to display our machines. Ipex has always been rewarding in terms of order booking. However, we have to wait and watch for this year's response. We are prepared to take things as they come. We will be displaying on behalf of companies like KBA MBO, Wohlenberg and Perfecta. We are positive that we will attract good business during Ipex"

MANUFACTURER
Sanjay Kelkar, managing director, Print-O-Graph

"Improved market condition has opened up doors for import of used as well as offset machines (post 2002-models). However, lack of organised back up for spares and consumables, has spurred firms like us to offer replacement spares and consumables services. Of course, Drupa attracts more visitors, but at Ipex, visitors look for reliable and affordable solutions for their day to day needs. We will display 400 products which includes new spares for the anicolour unit of Heidelberg and KBA machines. Recently, we have invested in a new site and machinery to meet demands from local as well as export markets."
