The company has bought a GLX-840RP 4/4 fixed perfector and a Lithrone GL 540 plus coater, both be installed in the next few months, and a Drupa-launched GL 529 plus coater, which will be delivered in early 2017. All three machines are equipped with Komori‘s H-UV drying system.
Komori UK director of sheetfed sales Steve Turner said Walsh Colour Print, a long-term Komori user, decided to bring its investment plans forward by around 12 months after visiting Drupa.
The H-UV technology will enable the 120-staff print firm, which owns educational book publisher Educate.ie, to print on a wider range of stocks.
“The new presses will also give us quicker turnarounds and less wastage and reduce our makeready times,” said Walsh Colour Print managing director Tony Walsh.
