The 3.2m-wide press is convertible, in under a minute, from either flatbed rigid or flexible roll-to-roll running.
The 400dpi 320/400 will be supplied as a four-colour model. Its top speed is 14 2x3m sheets per hour. Vutek claims that set-up time is "quick and easy and can be done with one person".
Beta testing will begin later this month with the first machine going to an undisclosed European location. Once beta testing has been concluded the machine will be available for shipping in mid-summer 2005. Pricing is yet to be released.
The firm aims to pitch the PressVu 320/400 at customers in markets ranging from billboard to point of sale. It joins Vutek's PressVu UV range of printers, which includes four-, six- and eight-colour models.
