Based at a 2,300sqm site in Market Harborough, the display graphics and hardware trade supplier installed the 3x3.2m machine last month. It was supplied by International Graphic Supplies (IGS), the distributor for the UK and Ireland of the Titanium kit, which is manufactured by JWEI.
Very Displays operates printers including an Agfa Avinci CX3200 roll-to-roll dye-sub press, which was installed in February, plus a D-Gen Papyrus Grande, D-Gen Grande G5, and an EFI Vutek GS3250 Pro hybrid printer.
The firm's print firepower had led to a bottleneck, with media being hand cut after printing.
Managing director Simon Boswell said: “The company has looked at a range of cutting machines including a Zund and Kongsberg, however after thorough testing and visiting an existing Titanium customer site local to our office, the Titanium 3032 stood out as extremely robust, adaptable and very competitively priced.
“Our production times have fallen dramatically with minimal waste and has sped up our product lead times from order to delivery.
“The IGS team managed the installation and training, including optimising the workflow for our specific production needs and tasks for our varied customer requirements.”
A high resolution registration camera ensures cutting printed jobs accurately to register while IGS said a range of speciality tools supplied with the device offer speed, power, and the flexibility to handle a variety of materials, such as corrugated, folding carton, solid board, foam, coating blankets, textiles, wood, Dibond, and a wide range of plastics.
IGS managing director Peter Flynn commented: “It has been a pleasure and a lot of fun building an excellent working relationship with the team at Very Displays, which is already enjoying the many benefits of moving to a Titanium cutter. As Simon and his team identified, our price/performance is hard to match.”
Very Displays employs 25 people over its production site and offices and turned over £6m in 2022/23.
