The £1m turnover, eight-staff packaging company makes around 5% of its sales to the US using courier services such as UPS for shipping from the UK.
Managing director Stuart Jones said the US presented a "massive opportunity" for the company and that it would like to find an American print partner in the first quarter of 2013, with a view to doubling its presence in North America.
"We’re looking for a one-stop-shop – a printer with eco-credentials and finishing expertise. It doesn’t have to be a huge corporation – we’d be happy with a smaller company that could really look after the quality of our product," he added.
Jones said that the company out-sourced most of its larger jobs to three litho printers in the West Yorkshire area while it uses its in-house digital printer for runs of less than 1,000.
"We’d like to continue like that in the US. We’d deal with the end customer and the printer would become part of the supply chain," he said.
All of Wewow’s products are printed on recycled board, which is supplied by an English company. Jones said the material could also be sourced in the US.
He added that the company’s other goal for next year was to develop its catalogue of products that are not aimed at the CD and DVD market.
"That’s what we’re best known for but there’s a massive market for other products. We also offer gift bags, photo packs and we even made a piece of wall art recently," he added.
He said it would be "very realistic" to expect the company to grow by 25% next year. "But it could be a lot more than that," he added.
