One of the UKs biggest magazine printing contracts has been lost to the continent, dealing a further blow to Polestar in the process.
The 4.4m-run AA Magazine, published twice a year, will be printed by Gruner + Jahr print subsidiary DD&V from April. The move comes about after the publishing contract for the customer magazine was won by John Brown Publishing. It was formerly handled by Redwood and printed at Polestars Greaves site.
This is our first gravure job. You walk through the door at Gruner + Jahr in Dresden and youve got the most modern print factory in Europe its no contest, said John Brown production director Vic Lime.
Mark Pfeiffer, Gruner + Jahrs sales manager for the UK and Scandinavia, added: This is very good news for us. The magazine fits very well on our large 3.62m-wide presses.
