TSPC moves from manual binding with Morgana Adventure PUR buy

School yearbook manufacturer The School Photography Company (TSPC) has increased productivity witha Morgana Adventure PUR binder.

In the past 12 months, TSPC has launched a number of new services to complement its core business, which according to director Nigel Owen has grown quickly, leading to a need for faster equipment.

He said: "To begin with, we finished print jobs using manual perfect binding methods, but it quickly became apparent that this method couldn't produce the volumes we required and there were also issues with the security of the bindings."

Morgana's Adventure machine runs at around 150 books per hour and includes touchscreen operation and a closed gluing system.

The Banbury-based company installed the machine alongside an Autocreaser 33, which it uses for card-creasing and perforating.

TSPC employs a nationwide network of photographers and handles work including individual portraits, class and school groups and a range of "more creative work" in schools.
