Screen aims to install 10 TruePress 544 units in the UK in the 2001 fiscal year.
UK managing director Brian Filler said the firm was not looking to take on rivals such as Heidelberg in the DI market, but the TruePress would "compete".
"What we want is a small percentage of their market and we will grow our business," said Filler.
The second UK True-Press 544 is due to be installed in Kent at an as yet unnamed printer. The first machine went to Leicester-based Phoenix Colour Print earlier this year (PrintWeek, 15 June).
Filler said 12 544s had been installed in Japan, with eight in Europe. The company has also sold its first TruePress to South Africa.
Screen demonstrated the 544 at a customer open day at its Milton Keynes headquarters.
