Bather, who takes on the role from 1 September 2009, will be charged with developing new sales channels for the company's three main products: Taopix photobook software; DirectSmile's VDP and cross-media software; and Press-sense’s iWay web-to-print product.
Bather said the company had "already grown to be recognised as one of the leading pre-press software specialists in the UK", despite only launching in 2007.
He said: "Entrepreneurial printers are still looking for great business ideas and technologies that can bring in strong revenue streams and improve margins for a relatively modest capital outlay.
"All of our products have been proven in the field to offer exactly that."
Bather takes on the role of managing director, following the departure of James Gray, who became the chief executive of Taopix.
