Titan Digital aims to increase its turnover by nearly a third after buying two Heidelberg Digimasters.
It has replaced two Xerox DocuTechs to increase uptime and productivity. It aims to tap into finance, training and local government sectors to increase its 600,000 turnover.
Company secretary Martyn Hall said the Digimaster was flexible, reliable and could do just-in-time printing from as little as one sheet. It could also handle black-and-white variable-data printing.
Work ranges from 10 volumes of a 100pp book to 10,000 personalised letters. The Digimasters will overprint a fifth of the firms colour litho work. This is carried out on a Printmaster QM 46-2 and a GTO and includes marketing literature and personalisation of training materials.
Titan Digital is now 99% a Heidelberg House, said Hall. Its headquarters and design studios are at Shepperton Film Studios but it does its full-colour, variable data and black-and-white printing at another plant in London W1.
The new machines had inline booklet-making facilities and were straightforward to use, said Hall. His kit list is rounded off with CTP, a Polar guillotine and facilities for lamination and binding.
Titans range of work includes book, manual and brochure printing, binder making, desktop publishing, stationery printing and web design.
Close Asset Finance provided funding for the purchases.
