The company said the investment was in response to a shift in its customer base, which has changed from being architectural to 50/50 plan printing, scanning and copying and digital printing for the creative markets.
Louise Garside, finance director and general manager of the Thames Print Room, said: "The main reason for this is that large format printers have become more and more affordable and the architectural and planning offices are now producing the majority of these drawings and works in-house.
"We saw the trend and needed to address it, hence installing the HP Indigo Digital Press. It's completely changed the nature of our business, and in a very short time."
The new press joins an HP Indigo 3050 that the company installed four years ago.
Thames Print Room is a member of UK-wide print and print services group, GDL Colourlink, and it operates out of Slough, Reading and Thatcham.
