Texdots GreenOne wins EU Eco-Label accolade

Swedish company Texdot has become the first large-format digital manufacturer to be awarded EU Eco-Label accreditation for its environmentally friendly large-format printer, the GreenOne.

The six-colour GreenOne 200 uses water-based inks (CMYK plus light cyan and light magenta). It can print on polyester textile, with a width of up to 2.1m, and can output 80m2 per hour.

Texdot marketing manager Boss Rydstrom said: This is unique in large-format printing. It uses water-based inks so its better for the environment.

The company claims that its water-based process onto polyester means savings in storage, transport, mounting and disposal as it is up to five times lighter than PVC.

The GreenOne 200, available since the start of the year, has been installed at Swedish printer Monkey Print, BlowUp in Germany and Vertical Vision in Italy. None are in the UK as yet.

The EUs Eco-Label scheme is awarded to products that can match its environmental criteria, which include manufacture, use and eventual disposal.
Texdot machines are distributed by Swiss firm Spets Com Consulting.
