Tech-ni-Fold has signed a one-year agreement with Heidelberg, which will promote the companys Tri-Creaser device worldwide through its global sales infrastructure.
Tech-ni-Fold director and inventor Graham Harris said: "Theyre going to promote it under the Heidelberg name and are going to produce and send out creased mailers to show how it works. It is a great opportunity to get exposure to Heidelbergs customer base, they have a presence in 170 countries."
Heidelberg has ordered an additional 200 Tri-Creasers, with the understanding that Tech-ni-Fold would manufacture more when demand dictates.
Tech-ni-Fold has also conducted preliminary tests at an unnamed web printer, where a Tri-Creaser device was used prior to the inline folding unit.
Harris said: "We did our first tests, which have proved to be successful. It has stopped crows feet and cracking in the webs folding unit. I didnt think it was possible a few months ago, but it works really well."
The Tri-Creaser fits onto the shafts of any folding machine, and can apply any one of three crease widths.
