In 2010, the firm installed a Manroland R700 HiPrint at its Silvassa plant - its third Manroland press.
The KBA Rapida with an extra-large format of 106 cm size is the first press of its kind in India. The press is suitable for both UV and conventional inks on paper and metallised board.
The KBA is recognised for its high-speed prowess: 18,000 speed, 24/7. TCPL accepted the contract from KBA after a series of tests with print-runs om Indian board and metpack at the KBA plant in Germany.
It is the firm’s third investment in a six-colour press at Haridwar. These installations will be supplemented by die-cutters, folder gluers and laminators for converting.
Saket Kanoria, managing director of TCPL stated: "Our aim is not to simply buy a machine. We want a productive machine. That is why we planned to go for next generation machines which are faster and productive. At Haridwar, we shall add the third line by March 2011."
TCPL plans to set up a corrugation plant in the same industrial estate that will produce E, F and N micro-fluting corrugated cartons. This will increase the company’s carton making capacity to more than 20,000 tonnes.
