Taskforce (Finishing and Handling), based in Edinburgh, has installed the UKs first Muller Martini AmigoPlus perfect binder, in a bid to enter the niche-finishing arena.
Managing director Bill Robertson said that the entry level AmigoPlus, which can produce 1,500 copies per hour, was able to produce as good a job as larger models.
"Weve found that were gradually moving away from bog-standard folding and stitching towards miniature folding and perfect bound work. The AmigoPlus is the right machine for our market," said Robertson.
The AmigoPlus has adjustable spine preparation, milling and a hot-melt binding system.
The 15-employee company has Stahl, MBO and H&H folders as well as a Muller Martini Minuteman, and has an annual turnover of around 1m.
