Stowford mills FSC win is second

ArjoWiggins Stowford mill at Ivybridge in Devon has become the second mill within the group to attain Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification.

The certification of Stowford follows that of the firm's Stoneywood mill in May (PrintWeek, 26 May).

This marked the launch of Conqueror Recycled FSC Certified from the Aberdeen site.

With the award of FSC chain of custody at Stowford, printers will now be able to develop their own bespoke watermark using either the Conqueror Recycled FSC grade, or a bespoke product with defined levels of FSC product.

The Stowford mill produces 11,000 tonnes per year of bespoke and watermarked paper grades, and employs around 145 staff.

The mill is the third in the UK to be awarded the FSC recognition, the other being Curtis Fine Papers' Guardbridge mill.
