He succeeds Seppo Hietanen, who is retiring. Pentikinen, who will be based in Shanghai, will also join Stora Ensos management group and report to deputy chief executive Bjorn Hgglund.
Pentikinen is currently senior vice president of Imatra Mills in Finland and Stora Ensos packaging product area. He joined the company in 1979.
Juha Helkala has been appointed general manager of Imatra mills with effect from October. Helkala, who joined the company in 1982, will remain managing director of Varenso, the firms Finnish maintenance arm.
