Polestar chief executive Barry Hibbert is poised to redeploy some of the firms management resources and change the divisional structure of the company.
The package of changes will come into effect at the start of Polestars financial year on 1 October.
Management changes include Purnell managing director Andrew Conway joining Varnicoat as its financial director, where he will work with David Yendole, the former Purnell MD who was parachuted in to Varnicoat last October. Conway will be replaced at Purnell by Scientifica managing director Tony Hall.
Mike Walmsley, managing director of the firms direct mail business Polestar Select, will see his role expanded to include Polestar Scientifica and Polestar Packaging. It is believed that this is just one of a raft of measures to change Polestars divisional structure.
David Holland, managing director of the Magazines and Catalogues division, has already been tipped for promotion, while group sales and marketing director John Ashfield will apparently take on a more European-focused role.
Polestar currently operates under six divisions: International, News and Consumer, Magazines and Catalogues, Select, Packaging and Scientifica. In addition to the above, Polestar Online sits as an umbrella service offering customers access to a complete range of Polestar services via the internet.
Immediately after his appointment last month, Hibbert said that his priority was to get the business working in the same direction and align it with the market (PrintWeek, 3 August).
At the time he said: In principle I dont like lots of layers any organisation has to be lean in the way in communicates between where the work is produced and the management level. We have to improve the communication process to be stronger and tighter.
