Sihl Direct UK launched the substrate, which is intended to be used for domestic and commercial art reproduction, to the UK market at Focus on Imaging show, which ran 4-7 March at Birmingham’s NEC.
Clara Beneficial, which is a blend of 78% cotton and 22% polyester, is available in 12m-long rolls and a range of widths: 610mm, 914mm, 1,067mm, 1,118mm, 1,270mm and 1,524mm.
The company said the material was suitable for printers using water-based inks, but could be used with latex inks and claimed it had all the qualities needed for framed art and photographic prints.
Sihl Direct UK operations director Ian Turnbull said: "Pictures can be stretched over frames manually or automatically, with virtually no cracks occurring under tension. This great value product produces high-quality end results."
