Scottish Highland's Nevisprint falls to administrators

Sheet-fed litho printer Nevisprint has gone into administration, putting the jobs of its 72 staff at risk.

Grant Thornton has been appointed as administrators to the Scottish-based firm, which is part of NBH Holdings.

Joint administrator John Montague said: "We are looking very closely at the business and we hope that we can sell it as a going concern."

In March 2006, Fort William-based Nevisprint merged with Inverness-based Highland Printers in a management buy-out .

At the time, Nevisprint had a £3.8m turnover and is said to be the Highlands' largest print firm.

Since the buy-out, Nevisprint has invested in facilities and equipment including a 10-colour Heidelberg press and a five-colour CD Heidelberg.

Nevisprint managing director Trudy Morris told printweek.com: "Nevisprint has a blue-chip client list and an enviable reputation for quality in the print industry.

"I believe it is a good opportunity for a printer looking for a facility to service the Highlands and North of Scotland."

The firm produces colour brochures, manuals, packaging, calendars and diaries and annual reports.
