The South African fine paper producer declared its intentions to paper merchants at the end of last year, and the news follows similar announcements by fellow producers.
Earlier this month M-real announced a 6-7% UK price rise for all woodfree coated and uncoated reels, with similar rises expected for sheet grades.
Sappi cited cost increases for raw materials and rising energy costs as the reasons for the price hike.
