Sanner, also a medical device Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), revealed its acquisition of Springboard last week, with filings at Companies House showing that changes in Springboard’s ownership took place on 20 December 2023.
Sanner said the deal was in line with its goal “to build a suite of world-leading services for its customers across the drug delivery, diagnostic and medtech device sectors”.
The addition of Springboard will boost Sanner Group’s in-house medical device development capabilities and see the establishment of a new “Design Center of Excellence” in the UK.

Bensheim, Germany-headquartered Sanner was founded in 1894 and has manufacturing facilities across Germany, France, Hungary, and China, It supplies its products to more than 150 countries globally and has more than 600 staff.
Springboard, meanwhile, employs 30 staff and has extensive in-house capabilities such as physics, electronics, software, and materials science.
Springboard’s expertise spans across drug delivery devices, such as autoinjectors, infusion pumps, inhalers, and syringes, and equipment and consumables in the fields of respiratory, surgical, critical care, implantables, diagnostics, and biotechnology.
