Sales lead generation trending toward print as DataBase101 buys Expresscopy

The Everest Group, sister company of marketing/sales lead company DataBase 101, has purchased Portland, OR-based Expresscopy for an undisclosed sum as part of an effort to bring print back into the new lead generation business.

Expresscopy is an on-demand digital printing company which specializes in direct mail, advertising and postcard marketing.

"Our customers are buying sales leads and they like the ability to send direct mail postcards right from our website," Everest Group chairman Vinod Gupta told PrintWeek in explaining the reasons behind the acquisition. "Our customer are finding that it can be more effective to send postcards in addition to emails and other outreach."

Gupta said this will be Database 101's first foray into providing print direct marketing tools, adding that though based in the Pacific Northwest, Expresscopy has a national reach. The deal also means Expresscopy's current customers will now have access to the hundreds of consumer and B2B lists available at Database101.
