The south-east London commercial printing company has made the investment due to designers specifying more demanding work on heavier boards.
"In addition, turnaround times are decreasing," said partner Andrew Morgan.
The Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 74-6LX will be installed in February next year, and will be able to print on heavy board.
The press will replace an existing B3 SM52-6 and also create further capacity.
Morgan said that although the firm currently specialised in short runs, with the B2 CD 74 it would be able to be competitive in the medium- run sector too.
The company had looked at a number of presses prior to the selection of the CD 74, which had come out on top due to its fast makeready times and stock flexibility.
The firm plans to work 12-hour continental shifts, six days a week following the installation of the press.
