Ricoh braces up for Pamex with announcement of eight installations

Sales of Ricoh machines for the rest of the year looks good after Ricoh announced that it has installed eight engines in the last two months.

This is in addition to the 10+ order for its presses it received at Ipex South Asia held in September, 2011. The eight engines have been installed at Bangalore, Chennai and Surat.

"I think business is picking up and that the year is going to wind up pretty good," said Avijit Mukherjee, business head, production printing business group for Ricoh India.

Mukherjee is also upbeat about Ricoh’s performance at Pamex, where in addition to the newly launched Ricoh Pro 751 press, the Pro C901, it will also have on display, IP5000 Infoprint machine. "The IP5000 is a game-changing inkjet platform that offers vibrant color, monochrome and MICR capabilities," he said.

The inkjet segment of the print industry is gaining in popularity, particularly in the transactional space, and according to Mukherjee, inkjet has started to move. "The IP 5000 enables production of high quality, full colour communications that improve customer engagement and response, while simplifying the production process and increasing speed of delivery for essential communications and direct marketing pieces."

The IP 5000 high-speed, full colour press is one of the new generation inkjet print solution, which was first shown at Drupa in 2008. The press is available in three platforms – general production, multi-purpose and volume and can produce prints at the speed of 128-220mpm. Ricoh claims to have worldwide install of more than 100 IP 5000 machines.

"With the new offering we are expanding our boundaries to deliver broader solutions to the Indian print industry," concluded Avijit.
