Our annual round-up of all the big news stories from the past 12 months – November.

ADM Group extended its minimum supplier payment terms to 180 days full term, provoking much discussion on Printweek.com... Administrators were appointed at troubled PFI Group’s Sign Plus business and its divisions Lofthus Signs and Jasmine... Ofcom announced that it was fining Royal Mail £5.6m for failing to meet delivery targets. Martin Seidenberg, CEO of Royal Mail parent International Distributions Services, promised to deliver a successful Christmas service for customers... The Barcode Warehouse, a specialist supplier of barcoding technology, was fined £500,000 after employee Jamie Anderson was killed when the forklift truck he was operating overturned... Reach announced that it intended to reduce its total workforce by an estimated 450 full-time roles as part of a cost reduction programme... DCS London acquired commercial printer Scanplus to support its growth... Signage and vehicle livery specialist Allen Signs became the first company in the world to invest in Fujifilm’s new Acuity Prime Hybrid printer... Service Graphics snapped up the trade and assets of Cestrian Imaging, which had been part of the troubled PFI Group... The sale process for the Telegraph Media Group and The Spectator magazine was put on hold, with the Barclay family reportedly planning a last-gasp bid to pay back more than £1bn owed to Lloyds Banking Group  and take back control... Administrators were appointed at PFI Group-owned Gardners NW. PFI acquired Cardiff-based Gardners from Hexcite Group via a pre-pack in August 2022. Meanwhile, workers at PFI Group subsidiary Signmaster finally got some clarity and were told the business is going to administration, having not been paid for at least a month... The in-house print division for Formula One team Mercedes AMG-Petronas began taking on external print jobs on its Epson kit... Software Circle, the AIM-listed PLC previously known as Grafenia, was forced to write off a further £1.42m because of PFI Group’s failure to meet the terms of its £3.17m purchase of Works Manchester... Bluetree Group mothballed the equipment at its Medical division due to the slump in mask sales, and will focus on growth at its core printing operations instead... Sister companies Envision Media and Grafit Display Hire created a giant confectionery selection box – claimed to be the world’s largest – that was being raffled off in aid of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
