The latest discussions between St Ives management and senior Amicus GPMS representatives began yesterday (13 April) and concluded this morning.
They were centred on a recovery plan proposed by Amicus to save jobs, avoid the closure of the factory and make the plant profitable.
Caerphilly lost almost 2m last year, and its unsuitability to shorter run work has left it exposed to the highly competitive long-run market.
Further detailed discussions will take place at plant level over the next few weeks.
St Ives announced the closure proposals and a 90-day consultation process seven weeks ago.
