Customers can personalise the text for their cards online, using remind4u's inhouse front-end system. The cards' images are held on Deptford-based SR Communications' server, which receives the personalised information from remind4u's system when a card is ordered.
SR Communications then prints and finishes the card, which goes onto a mailing line for envelope address personalisation. The cards are then mailed out, either as individual items or in bulk for corporate customers by SR.
"The quality SR produces is out of this world it is a fantastic partner," said Richard Pepper, director of remind4u.
"It's our technical expertise that it many ways has really enabled them [to offer this service]," said SR account director Robert Burbidge.
The cards are printed on the firm's HP Indigo 3050. "And if the volumes grow to remind4u's business plan, we will probably need ten of them soon," added Burbidge.
Remind4u also plans to use SR's Direct Smile software and introduce cards with images that can be personalised early next year. According to Burbidge it will be one of the first firms to offer personalised images over the internet, other than Direct Smile itself.
The www.remind4u.com site went live last month. The company was founded by Pepper and Miles Clee. TV presenter Carol Vorderman is also one of a number of investors at the 1m start-up. It is based in a 500 square meter facility, and currently employs 12 staff.
The firm is aiming for a 1m turnover in its first year.
