The new service was launched on 19 December and made possible by an investment in CMA ColourPack software and an Esko Kongsberg XE10 CAD table at The Greenhouse, the company's Stamford-based design studio.
It will offer clients the ability to print directly onto a “virtually limitless” range of substrates from the group’s portfolio including labels, film, lined- and flat-sheet board, pre-made pouches, IML and shrink sleeves. Reflex provides library stocks of substrates on-site for a range of proofing options and finishes.
Reflex Group graphics director Ben Cox said: “Proof Plus takes our design service to the next level from 3D imaging to now physically being able to see designs as intended and to what is achievable before they go to full print production.
“We are already delivering proofs to a range of highly recognised brands, retailers, beverage bottlers and food packers.
“The plan is to continue to deliver the supply of press-ready proofs matching to exact on-shelf requirements. This provides the opportunity for brands to visualise and imagine their brands before they go to print, which is especially useful for the innovation and new product development process.”
Proof Plus is currently run by two dedicated members of staff.
Through the service, clients’ profiles are saved to its cloud-based portal, enabling quick repeats for proofs; matched colour process to ISO standards inclusive of 39L; spot colours to DE2000; Braille to 250µm; setting colour standards before going to press; decorative tactile exceeding 60µm; foil embellishments and CAD.
