The firm made the purchase in order to increase its level of UV direct-to-substrate output. Operations manager Chris Parker said: “We did our research and the new Agfa Anapurna was an obvious choice.”
The investment, which cost around £150,000, has already had a positive impact on business. Parker said: “We only got the new piece of kit in January and we have already taken on a couple of new projects with existing clients.”
The device was installed at the firm’s circa 1,000sqm premises in January. It replaced an Anapurna M2500 that was on loan to the company before the M2500i was available.
The Anapurna M2500i is Agfa's latest UV-cured hybrid wide-format printer and has a print width of 2.5m. It is aimed at a broad sector of the market including signage, screen print and wide-format graphics firms.
The six-colour-plus-white device uses CMYK, light cyan and light magenta inks, plus two printheads dedicated to white ink. It is suitable for outdoor and indoor wide-format graphics on a wide range of rigid and roll-to-roll media.
Projects & Print was established four years ago and has a turnover of over £1m. The firm currently has 10 staff, including part-time workers. It is currently looking to move to larger premises and recruit an additional two staff.
The Hertfordshire-based company is a trade supplier to agencies and provides installation services for internal and external signage. It produces a range of signage for companies such as Costa Coffee, Samsung and National Rail.
