Sheffield direct mail company, Production Direct, has been behind the targeted responses given to fundraisers for World Visions Orange-a-Peel Day.
Production Direct sales manager Mike Hoyland said: Its like Red Nose day in so far as people pay 1 or however much to wear orange for the day. Weve been the sole mailing house for the entire project, which has included the data processing and data capture.
World Vision is hoping to raise 1.2m today (16 February) by having as many companies, schools and individuals dressing up in orange, the charitys colour.
In October we sent out mail packs to groups that were interested, then collated the response information on a database and sent the data to World Vision, said Hoyland.
Over 136,000 bespoke packs were then sent back to groups containing posters and information.
The litho printing was done by London Print & Design in Warwick and included single-colour banners, two single-colour A5 posters, A3 four-colour posters, A4 sponsorship forms and A4 letter templates and business reply envelopes.
Production Direct personalised the letters on one of its three Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 8100 DN laser printers.
A spokeswoman for World Vision said: Production Direct has been very proactive in helping us with the project. Theyve done a great job in dealing with the mail-outs, which have been coming from all sources, including our website. The response speed encourages people to take part.
