The start-up firm which has four retail outlets and one back-end production center in Mumbai has also invested in a Duplo DC 645 which slits, cuts and creases in a single pass.
Milap Shah, director at PrintStop India said: "The new Bizhub C8000 will expand and optimise our digital printing business. Rapid growth in demand for printed products has provided us with an unique opportunity to expand our digital print capacity, extend our print service portfolio and increase revenues and customer base."
The machine was supplied and installed by HCL Infosystems.
PrintStop is a digital print firm established by Milap along with his wife Siddhi and his brother Pratik in 2007. The trio started with a Xerox DC 252 and other reconditioned machines, moving on to Konica Minolta in 2009.
The C8000 launched into production from 16 July, has since fired 33,000 13x19inches sheets at 3,000 sheets per day and plans to push it to 10,000 sheets per day.
According to PrintStop, the C8000 holds unlimited potential to meet high-level needs of professionals. The digital colour production press is capable of printing on a 350 GSM paper.
"This is the first installation of the Bizhub Press C8000 in Maharashtra and we will now be able to offer not only high value to our customers’ print requirements but also short and high volumes, as and when required. The machine is capable of printing 350 GSM paper which is the highest in this category. It can deliver super colour prints that can build profitable repeat business," said Pratik Shah, director at PrintStop.
Besides, Konica Minolta uses the Simitri HD toner, which it describes as bio-mass toner because it contains 10% plant-based components, and the only bio-mass polymerised toner. To top the features, Konica Minolta has incorporated a newly designed eight-beam laser unit into the Bizhub Press C8000 to enhance image quality and longevity, housing it in a die-casing for better durability.
The register control system at the two ends, one at the feeding end and one after the printing unit, ensures the total control over the registration.
PrintStop plans to make the business profitable on the back of the machine’s durability, and robustness. "Yes, the feature-loaded C8000 which is both flexible and cost-effective, will enable us to generate new revenues," says Shah.
PrintStop has an annual income of Rs 5-crore and employs 65 people.
