Printing.com unveils US partner as 'trading remains stable'

Printing.com has said that its results for the year ended 31 March 2009 will be in line with market expectations, as it unveils Raintree Graphics as the US master licence holder.

The AIM-listed print franchise company revealed that trading had remained stable in its established markets in the UK and Ireland and that it continued to trade "both profitably and cash generatively" despite a 3% decline in sales volume.

Meanwhile, Printing.com continued its US expansion with its first print job reportedly going through at its Florida-based master licence holder, Raintree Graphics.

Printing.com chief executive Tony Rafferty said of Raintree Graphics: "They're a business we've been talking to for more than two years. They've got the master licence and initially we're just starting out in the states of Florida and Georgia."

Raintree Graphics, which has sites in Jacksonville and Gainesville, is reportedly on the brink of opening a handful of the first Printing.com bolt-on franchises in the US.

Rafferty said: "It's very, very embryonic at the start, but we're obviously optimistic. It's tough times over in America in the same way that it's tough times over in the UK but we're optimistic that the Printing.com model will find merits and purpose over there."

Printing.com intends to report its preliminary results on Monday 1 June 2009.
