The machine replaces two Docutech 6180s, which commercial director Paul Manning explained had run their course and joins two Nuvera 120s.
He said: "The Docutechs are great workhorses, but they don't print on coated paper. We decided that instead of replacing them with two Nuvera 120s we would go for one machine.
"It has two print engines, so if one goes down we can still run it; it's like having two machines, it's just a lot faster and more flexible, plus we can print on coated paper."
Manning added that the company would probably invest in finishing equipment in 2011.
He added: "We are getting more involved with data-specific print so we need to be able to fit finishing lines inline. The 288 allows us to do that and we may be adding some kit next year."
