The YMP's national training weekend is fully booked and sets off for Gilwern outdoor education centre near Abergavenny on 16-18 September.
The YMP, which was set up in 1925 to boost skills in the industry, runs the team-building event and chairman Andrew Denny has recruited an elite hardcore of brave managers and apprentices for the challenging trip.
"The aim is to foster group skills and confidence," said national secretary Samantha Dell-Ashby. "If someone can handle a harness and helmet and wade up a river, it may boost workplace confidence."
Tolputt Keeton in Tamworth ran off 4,000 copies of the booking form and directors Paul and Jenny Keeton are among 40 daredevils forking out 165 for the pleasures of pitch-black cave crawling and open canoeing.
Adventure sports company Inspire will organise the events.
