Andrew Moss, the founder of AM:PM, is also a talented photographer. Alongside six other photographers he is part of the 2020photovision collective, who all share a passion for passion for producing and exhibiting printed images in the digital age.
Moss commented: “I have been taking photographs as a hobby for about ten years. As my involvement in the world of print lessened, I spent more time with photography. I love taking images of sport and action and have gradually worked my way up the ladder, so I now have press accreditation, sell the odd image and get commissioned to shoot events.”
Moss has worked with organisations as varied as Nikon School shooting motocross, British Weightlifting at the National Championships and ChessFest in London’s Trafalgar Square.
He said he became “increasingly frustrated with the lack of opportunities to show prints of my work”.
“The saying goes that a photograph is not a real photograph until it is printed, as it merely exists as digital data until then.”
The group of six photographers: Moss plus Angela Ford, Barrie Brown, Jan Beesley, Roger Ford and Susi Petherick originally got together in March 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic delayed their plans to put on a show.
“We finally have our first exhibition coming up. We will be showing a wide range of subjects and styles in the show, which is on for four weeks,” Moss added.
Their first exhibition ‘Celebrating Prints’ will be held at Hanbury Hall at the heart of London’s vibrant East End and runs from 15 October until 11 November, open daily from 11am to 4pm.
