He received his award for his contribution to vocational education and training in the printing industry. "Vocational training is often looked at as the poor relation in education, so its extremely rewarding to get some recognition for the work of the NTO," said Alden.
Paul Diamond, managing director of Diamond Corrugated Cases in Londonderry, received an OBE for his services to the packaging industry.
"Im really pleased that the packaging industry has been recognised as it provides such a vital role throughout the general manufacturing industry," said Diamond.
