The Truepress Jet1600UV-F is a 1.6x3.1m flatbed machine that competes with the Océ Arizona and Fujifilm Acuity machines. It sits below the company's Truepress Jet 2500UV, its 2.5m-wide 68sqm per hour hybrid machine.
The 13sqm per hour printer is being built for Screen by Mimaki, and shares many of the Mimaki JFX 1631's specifications including LED curing and a choice of hard or flexible UV-cured inks. However the firm said that the Truepress Jet1600UV-F included its own colour and imaging technology to improve and differentiate output.
"Screen is moving quickly into the large-format market and is expanding its range to give customers choice," said Screen UK managing director Brian Filler. "Although it does have engineering and manufacturing, by working with another Japanese manufacturer (Mimaki) it has been able to bring a second printer to market, with all the benefits of Screen imaging technology, to fill customer demand very quickly."
It will cost €150,000 (£125,000) and will be available in Europe in November.
