The firm is trading on following the appointment of Dean Nelson and Nicholas Lee from Smith Cooper at the end of last week.
In a statement, Smith Cooper said Pressroom Plus was “continuing to trade as usual” while a purchaser was sought for the business. “This strategy will continue for the foreseeable future,” the administrators said.
Nelson, who is Smith Cooper’s head of business recovery and insolvency, said: “At present, there have been several expressions of interest, and negotiations continue to take place. We will strive to secure the best outcome for all involved, and will ensure employees and stakeholders are updated in a timely manner.”
PrintWeek understands that the deadline for receipt of offers is 25 February.
Pressroom Plus employs 19 staff. The company has a warehouse and ink mixing facility in Colchester, and a site near Nottingham where blankets are converted.
The firm is believed to be the UK’s biggest independently-owned consumables dealer and describes its offering as a “one stop shop” for litho, digital and screen printers. Its main product range includes Huber inks and Trelleborg blankets alongside film and plates, pressroom chemicals and sundries such as washcloths, and a range of proofing and wide-format media.
