The winning entry was Pragati's 2008 calendar.
The calendar was printed on Sappi's magno paper, with multiple three-dimensional embossing, foiling with overprinting, gloss, textured and glitter UV varnishes and new technologies such as holographic UV coatings.
Judges praised the calendar for its great balance between print techniques and design. They said the calendar makes "excellent use of colour. Perfect even on overlays. A perfect example of what a printer's own promotion piece should be."
Pragati is no stranger to winning the awards - this is the second time that Pragati has bagged the printer of the year award, having won it in 2006, earlier. To-date, Pragati has won 10 golds, 20 silvers and six bronzes in the past eight years, a feat unsurpassed by any printer in the world.
Narendra Paruchuri of Pragati Offset said: "This award is equivalent to the Oscars - and we are happy that we are getting this award for a second time. We would like to share this success with our clients and vendors who have a share in making this possible."
