PPA secures industry first with digital annual report

The Periodical Publishers Association (PPA) has produced the industry's first annual report to be published as a fully integrated digital edition.

Mirroring the current trend of providing content in both print and digital format, the PPA teamed up with Fresh Media Group (FMG) subsidiary Ceros Media to convert its 2007/08 annual review into a digital edition.

Membership director Jane Salliss said: "Members have told us they would like to receive information in different ways. This is why PPA took the decision to provide its annual report in a print and digital format."

The digital edition, which was published last week – several months after the print edition – makes full use of Ceros' page-turning digital technology and includes embedded video footage, graphs, additional text, hyperlinks and rotating images.

Dominic Duffy, managing director of Ceros, said: "The PPA has long been an advocate of the inherently engaging qualities and editorial values of the magazine format. In producing the industry's first integrated annual report, they have not only showcased engagement, but provided interaction and live dialogue as well."
