Commercial print giant, Polestar, picked up the 72pp KBA 818 Compacta with Grammerler in-line finishing from the former Quebecor site, as well as post-press equipment including two Ferag stitching lines in a "multi-million pound" deal.
The announcement comes two months after GVA Grimley was appointed by Quebecor World administrator Ernst & Young to handle the disposal of property and assets from the Corby site, including two substantial freehold properties.
Polestar admitted that it does not yet know where it will house the new second-hand press and binding lines.
The auction, which it was hoped would raise in the region of £10m, brings to a close the final chapter in what has been the sad demise of one of the UK's best-known printers.
