Polestar appoints Weller and Palframan to its board

Polestar has made two high-profile appointments to its board as it gears up to "accelerate its growth" and take advantage of the "difficult market conditions".

Incisive Media founder and group chief executive Tim Weller and former CPI UK chief executive Peter Palframan have joined the board of the Dunstable-headquartered print giant as non-executive chairman and non-executive director respectively.

Polestar chief executive Barry Hibbert said: "While the industry faces unprecedented challenges, I am delighted to have Tim and Peter joining Polestar and look forward to benefiting from their experience of this sector and the markets we serve."

Hibbert also thanked departing chairman Thomas Middelhoff, the former boss of German media group Bertelsmann.

Weller said: "During my 25 years-plus in publishing, I have followed Polestar’s development with interest, both as a long-term customer and spectator.

"Polestar is in prime position to take advantage of the difficult market conditions and accelerate its growth given its leading market position and renewed balance sheet strength."

A well-respected entrepreneur in the publishing sector, Weller founded Incisive Media in 1994 having previously been a director at Centaur Publishing.
