The Cambridgeshire large-format and digital printer has upped capacity with a Xerox 700 and a mono 4112 machine in order to help cope with an increasing demand for digitally printed training manuals.
According to director Tim Egan, the spike in demand has stemmed from the company's reputation spreading by word of mouth in the retail and utilities sectors.
"We had a need for more capacity in mono and colour digital. It'll help us handle the increase in training work, while also helping us handle the high-end shorter-run work like brochures for other clients," he said.
With the latest presses now installed, the 12-staff business is now planning to increase its factory floorspace later in the year – a move that would open the door for a further digital flatbed kit investment.
"The increase in demand by our clients not only for quality, but for quicker turnarounds, has justified the investment," added Paul Foley, PMT Digital production director.
The new machines complement existing equipment that includes a Xeikon 500, a Xerox DC240 and four large-format HP Designjet 5000s, which handle point-of-sale work.
PMT makes double Xerox investment to match digital demand
PMT Digital has invested in two new Xerox digital presses as part of an ongoing investment programme that it said will continue throughout the year.
