Following the recent publication of the BPIF's ISO 12647-2 requirements, PMC will be working with a pilot set of customers for assessment and certification.
This is in advance of UKAS development and accreditation work, which is due to commence in April.
Those certified under the pilot scheme will be the first to receive the PMC certification for ISO 12647-2 under the BPIF scheme.
PMC director Jon Stack said: "As the UK's only print specific and accredited certification body, we believe PMC's 12647-2 certification will be the mark of high-quality printing.
"As PMC is already accredited by UKAS for ISO 9001 and 14001 certification, and all our auditors are highly experienced in the print sector, ISO 12647-2 is a natural and welcome addition to our range of certifications."
