PGC NTO mourns Peter Lynas

The Print and Graphic Communication National Training Organisation (PGC NTO) is mourning the loss of Peter Lynas.

Lynas, who was PGC NTO senior project officer, suffered a heart attack on 29 August, aged 61.

Unlike some of us, he had a real understanding of print prior to joining the BPIF and PGC NTO, said PGC NTO chief executive Richard Beamish.

Beamish paid tribute to Lynas expertise, which was in standards development for the NTO, and as a training co-ordinator for the BPIF.

Lynas had only just completed work on revisions to the print finishing and mechanised binding occupational standards, which form part of the NVQ and SVQ qualifications.

He was somebody we relied on and was very well regarded by people in the industry, and will be greatly missed, said Beamish.

Lynas is survived by his wife, Gloria.
