The Corsham, Wiltshire-based company's aging Wohlenberg machine had begun to slow down the department, so managing director Philip Sudwell opted for a new Polar 92X.
Sudwell said: "We have been really pleased. The old machine was on its last legs and productivity has increased incredibly since.
"We were having problems before – the old machine was a little like an old car in the mornings – it didn't want to start in the cold weather."
The investment follows the installation of a second Canon ImagePress C7000VP at the site earlier this year to boost the company's digital offering.
Sudwell also hinted that there may be further investments later in the year. He said: "There is nothing I want to talk about at the moment. But you always have to be on the lookout."
