Kodaks Graphics Communications Group (GCG) has appointed Michael Howard as vice president of marketing for its Digital Printing Solutions (DPS) business. Howard has over 20 years experience in the printing and computing industries.

Oc is set to announce a shake up of its board of supervisory directors. The changes will be proposed at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 20 April. Harry Pennings and Pieter Bouw are to step down with Peter Elverding and Gerard van de Aast both nominated to become new members of the board.

Prompt Print, a new high street print shop, has opened its doors in Newport. Martin Hooper spent six years in print and took a degree in graphic design before setting up the company. Hooper has chosen Xerox DocuColor 250 equipment for his first venture, which has been set up as part of the Everest Group of Companies.

GBC Films Group Europe has launched a thermal silver metalised polyester film, the 7100 Metalised PET. GBC, part of Acco Brands Corporation, has launched the product across Europe. The film is available in widths up to 710m at a length of 200m and can run at temperatures of up to 110C.

Strachan Office Supplies has installed a four-colour Hamada 52cm B3 landscape press with a DPM 2508 polyester platemaker from Presstek Europe. Managing director Alan Strachan said that colour printing was a "growing area" for the Glasgow-based firm.
