The firm has tested out a new-look welcome desk design at its Birmingham business store, surely guaranteed to cause a double-take from even the most unobservant of visitors.
The desk is modelled here by former Nettl cadet and now digital designer Tom, and apprentice Casey, also a digital designer.
“It’s designed by our marketing team, and printed and installed by Image Group,” enthused chief executive Peter Gunning. “It’s the prototype for Exeter which will be a four metre wide desk!”
Overmatter heartily approves of printcos showing off all the clever and impactful things that print can be used for in their own businesses, and it’s fair to say that Nettl has thrown everything at the wall (including a Tardis-style police box) in this respect, and then there’s the giant curved fabric displays, the curtains, the chandeliers, the pink chairs… but, back to the original desk, how did they choose the legs?
Says Gunning: “Flamingos are funny? And zebras are cool.”
